Simone Herak is an Engineering Manager at FOMF, where he leads a small team focused on internal tools that support a digital health platform used by pharma companies and hospitals. He also works as a Strength & Conditioning Coach at NK Gorica, training youth players who compete at the national level. Outside of that, he co-founded Pietra Fitness Club - a local training group focused on movement, strength, and consistency.
His work, whether in tech or sport, is about making people and systems perform better.
Simone leads an internal productivity team at FOMF. He runs cycle planning every two weeks, handles stand-ups and retros, and keeps the team focused on what matters. He works closely with product, medical, and support teams to unblock dependencies and keep things moving. Each week, he updates the CEOs on progress and issues. The goal: keep things moving, cut unnecessary noise, and help engineers deliver medical solutions on time.
Simone coaches the U14 and U15 teams at NK Gorica, focusing on strength and conditioning to improve players’ performance. He also works individually with older players, designing strength programs and keeping track of their training to help them progress and avoid injuries.
Every preseason, Simone helps out at the Football 4 You camps across Istra, working with local coaches to run training sessions for players of all ages and levels.
He’s currently educating for a UEFA coaching license and holds certifications from the Functional Fitness Academy and Barcelona’s S&C program. He completed a praxis at Basic Gym One, applying science-backed methods in real training.
In 2023, Simone helped start Pietra Fitness Club in Vrsar, a community focused on connection, consistency, and movement. What began as a few outdoor workouts has turned into a place where locals and visitors train together, share tips, and push each other to get better physically and mentally.
Pietra Fitness Club is about getting better through functional training and group workouts by the sea. Simone helps run weekly sessions and seasonal events that focus on strength, mobility, and mindset. It’s a community where people push themselves, learn from each other, and keep showing up.
